12.0.0.1 Release Notes (Technical / Evaluation only)
Unofficial – Not for General Availability
Overview
DeskAlerts Version 12 (Technical / Evaluation Release) is an unofficial, pre-GA build intended exclusively for technical validation, architectural evaluation, and controlled testing. This release is not certified for production use and is not recommended for general deployment.
Version 12 represents a major platform evolution and is based on Microsoft .NET 8, enabling alignment with Microsoft’s current long-term support runtime and laying the groundwork for future scalability, security, and performance improvements.
This release also introduces an optional secure authentication mechanism between the DeskAlerts Application Server and Microsoft SQL Server using Kerberos, allowing organizations to evaluate integrated Windows authentication scenarios in controlled environments.
Known Issues
- The current build of DeskAlerts 12 cannot function as a standalone installation and requires DeskAlerts 11.5 to be pre-installed on the same server. It is recommended to first install DeskAlerts 11, followed by an installation of DeskAlerts 12 in a separate directory with a dedicated database.
- Active Directory synchronization is currently unavailable in DeskAlerts 12.
