DeskAlerts 11.4 Release Notes
New features
Emergency Alerts on Mobile and Desktop Client
- DeskAlerts is enhancing its emergency alert capabilities. Administrators can now configure emergency alerts to be available for activation by users directly from their desktop and mobile DeskAlerts client applications.
- Administrators retain full control over which alerts are available for user activation and can set corresponding permissions for specific users or groups.
- The feature allows for alerts to be directed to specific groups of employees (i.e. a response team) and/or to the whole organization, ensuring that critical information reaches the relevant individuals without delay.
- As with all DeskAlerts notifications, administrators can monitor who has activated an alert and who has received and acknowledged the message, maintaining a clear line of communication and response.
Users Actions (Audit) Log
A new feature that equips managers with capabilities of conducting detailed postmortem analysis of actions performed by web users (i.e. administrators and publishers), which is essential for resolving conflicts and enhancing accountability within the organization. It provides an in-depth understanding of users behaviors, with detailed logs that record every critical action.
Enhanced Multilingual Support
Alerts, quizzes, polls, and other communications can now be delivered in the preferred languages of the publisher, aligning with the language settings of the publisher's user interface. This new feature is especially advantageous for companies operating in Arabic countries.
REST API: API Secret Key
Enhanced the REST API feature by implementing programmatic authentication via an API secret key, providing a convenient layer of security for accessing DeskAlerts' services and data. With the API Secret Key that admins can now generate in the application, customers can seamlessly integrate with DeskAlerts REST API, enabling efficient automation and streamline workflows.
QR-Based Server URL Sharing in DeskAlerts Mobile App
Managers registered in the DeskAlerts mobile app can now generate a QR code containing DeskAlerts server URL. This facilitates the onboarding of the blue collar workers who do not have corporate AD accounts which is particularly instrumental in remote and field work scenarios.
Intune MDM Integration for DeskAlerts Mobile App Configuration
DeskAlerts is further enhancing its mobile client applications by introducing an integration with Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) attributes. This new feature streamlines the onboarding process for DeskAlerts mobile apps on both Android and iOS devices. Administrators can now set the DeskAlerts Server connection through Intune MDM for all mobile application users, significantly simplifying the onboarding process.
Azure Active Directory Seamless Single Sign-on for DeskAlerts Client
DeskAlerts client applications now seamlessly authenticate using Azure Active Directory credentials upon initial access, eliminating the need for end-users to manually enter passwords during their first login.
Installer Option for Easy Trials: Accept Non-Trusted Certificates
This facilitates trial evaluations without requiring a trusted TLS certificate installation on Windows desktops.
Enhanced support for Spanish and French keyboards
Spanish and French keyboard support has been enhanced to address the issue where certain characters were not being typed. Users can now effortlessly input all characters on their keyboards in these languages.
Fullscreen alert rendering support on MacOS
Alerts now properly display over fullscreen applications on macOS.

Horizontal scaling considerations
While installing the DeskAlerts Server, choose a number of сonnection services followed by an additional connection service (1) for every 10,000 connections.
To ensure secure communication, it is necessary to acquire a valid SSL certificate and subsequently install it on your server.
Internet Information Services (IIS) configuration necessitates a default site binding for HTTPS on port 443, utilizing the installed SSL certificate.
Network requirements for connection services
For seamless operation and connectivity within our system, it's critical to configure your network to allow communication through specific ports. The default port for the initial connection service is set to 40001. To facilitate additional connection services effectively, we recommend assigning unique ports within the 40001 range for each subsequent service.
It's important to note that while the starting point of 40001 is standard, the range can be adjusted to accommodate customer preferences or specific network configurations. This flexibility ensures that our connection services can be tailored to fit the unique requirements of each customer's network environment, promoting efficient and secure communications across your infrastructure.
Please ensure these ports are open on your firewalls to guarantee uninterrupted service and optimal performance of the connection services.
