Ver. 11.4.0.3 Release Notes

We're excited to announce a hotfix for DeskAlerts version 11.4, bringing you a series of critical enhancements and defect fixes. This update focuses on optimizing the overall functionality and stability of the system, ensuring a smoother and more reliable user experience. Key improvements include streamlined processes, increased system resilience, and the resolution of previously identified issues, all designed to enhance your DeskAlerts experience.

Features

  • Publishers now have the flexibility to remove the postpone option from alerts that demand immediate attention and acknowledgment
  • With the latest update, when the DeskAlerts client is uninstalled from a desktop, all wallpapers and screensavers automatically revert to their pre-installation settings
  • The default setting for the minimum user account lock time in our password policy has been updated to 2 minutes
  • Added a convenience of setting a time zone for publishers which can be set in the DeskAlerts user profile or derived from Windows locale if no value is set in the user profile
  • If the preferred time zone is not set in DeskAlerts publisher profile, we'll derive it from the publisher operating system settings
  • We've updated DeskAlerts user interface with a more accurate and engaging translation experience for Arabic-speaking users
  • Enabled all logging levels in the DeskAlerts server settings by default (trace, info, debug, error, and fatal) for faster issue resolution
  • Enhanced the speed and accuracy of updates for client and content delivery statuses

Resolved Issues

  • Intermittent issue with the DeskAlerts server server being unresponsive
  • Intermittent: due to an issue with connection restoration settings from the client to DeskAlerts server, the client was not receiving alerts
  • Publishers are unable to successfully logging in DeskAlerts utilizing integration with Okta
  • Alerts were not sent to IP groups. Note that after the upgrade, it is necessary to update and save previously created IP groups
  • Desktop clients version 11.4.0.0 installed on MS Windows 11 with online status were showing their status as offline
  • Recipients in desktop client applications could not close alerts with acknowledgement requested while experiencing temporary loss connection loss with DeskAlerts server
  • Losing a connection to DeskAlerts server caused an automatic alert closure after 5 minutes
  • If no URL was provided in the client application settings during installation, the client application would default to the URL of the test server upon launch
  • The macOS client application could not be downloaded via the link on the dashboard
  • Activating the Panic Button from the desktop client application caused a server unavailable error and no alert was sent to a respective response team
  • Panic Button alerts were not being sent automatically to Email and SMS communication channels
  • After editing the emergency alert and publishing it from DeskAlerts server, the alert was not sent, "Alert has expired" message was displayed on the screen, but the alert status was shown as ‘Sent’
  • Random duration values in the "keep active" field were displayed when editing an emergency alert 'Keep active' in default alert settings didn’t apply to newly created alerts
  • In the alert created as a duplicate of a scheduled recurring alert, clicking on instant delivery didn’t clear custom recurrence settings for alert delivery
  • ‘Month’ field was disabled in custom recurrence alert settings
  • Editing an existing skin for alerts caused loss of previously set values
  • Publishers were not able to save Wallpaper as a draft
  • When publishers were setting Wallpaper scaling option to ‘Fill’ it was displayed as ‘Stretch’
  • Wallpapers without start and end date and deemed to be run indefinitely were expiring unexpectedly
  • Text input was mirrored in right-to-left on a create screensaver page for European languages
  • The ticker text in Arabic was played in a reverse order, starting with the body and then the title
  • Attempting to switch the scrolling direction of the ticker display from left to right did not alter the actual scrolling direction of the ticker
  • In reports for surveys, quizzes, and polls exported to .csv some records got trimmed
  • Pagination not responding to changing pages in a drill-down report in surveys, quizzes, and polls reports
  • In the statistic reports for surveys, quizzes, and polls, the publisher's timezone settings were not applied
  • The ‘like’ user feedback submission date was not captured in the Likes Count report
  • With approval workflow activated, alerts published for approval were not displayed in the "Pending Approval" section for approvers
  • Restart of a DeskAlert desktop client application caused receiving alert with a ‘pending approval’ status
  • Upon the initial visit to the User Action Log report, it was shown as empty
  • Refreshing a browser page on the User Action Log was whipping out the report menu item in the left control panel
  • Acknowledgement alert buttons were off the screen in the iOS DeskAlerts mobile application
  • In push notifications to mobile client application with content titles in Arabic, ';&nbsp' symbol was displayed
