Ver. 11.4.0.9 Release Notes
We're excited to announce a hotfix for DeskAlerts version 11.4.0.9, addressing product defects. Key fixes include proper handling of user deletions, Azure AD synchronization improvements, correct display and formatting of alerts, and resolving errors in alert and survey functionalities. Minor UI enhancements and default icons for emergency alerts are also included.
Resolved Issues
- Clearing History causes a gray screen issue: In DeskAlerts desktop client, clicking the "Clear History" button in the tray menu removes the content for delivered wallpapers, screensavers, and lockscreens but preserves their records. This leads to a gray screen instead of the actual content and also this issue prevents server-side termination of these delivered items. Now, clicking "Clear History" clears the delivery history while continuing to display wallpapers, screensavers, and lockscreens correctly.
- Logout Mechanism for Deleted Users: Records of users deleted on the DeskAlert server side stay intact in DeskAlerts clients, causing such users to appear as connected on the client side. Now, a mechanism is implemented to logout and delete records of such users on the client side. This process is triggered by either manually closing the client application or restarting the computer.
- Azure AD Login Error: Registering in the client application under Azure AD shows a "Login complete error" caused by the system taking credentials from another user. In this release the ability to select sources from which credentials are taken is added on the server side for troubleshooting.
- Primary Domain Assignment: During DeskAlerts user synchronization with Azure AD tenant that contains multiple domains, the server is not choosing the primary domain. The primary domain is now correctly chosen, ensuring accurate synchronization of user records.
- User Duplication in Azure AD Synchronization: Selecting groups for Azure AD synchronization leads to users being duplicated in the computers tab as well. This issue is fixed, and group selection now correctly synchronizes users without creating duplicates.
- Token Validation Error(intermittent): When token validation fails for incoming alerts, surveys, scrolling tickers, and other content, an error "Exception of type DeskAlerts.Core.Exceptions.Proxy BadStatusCodeResponseException' was thrown" appears on a white background. In the present version, DeskAlerts server side token validation is removed, ensuring actual content appears in alerts.
- Text Line Space Formatting: Formatting for text line spacing between paragraphs is not applied to alerts and other types of content. This standard text formatting capability is fixed in this version.
- Alert Title Display in Preview: The preview of a sent alert displays "Alert title" static text instead of the actual title. Now, the preview displays the actual alert title.
- Thumbnail Display Issue: When creating or editing wallpapers, screensavers, and lockscreens, the corresponding thumbnail is not shown. This issue is resolved and now thumbnails are shown on the create content screen.
- Scheduler Time Issue: Duplicating existing alerts, wallpapers, screensavers, and lockscreens in the scheduler doesn’t clone date/time in the publisher's local time zone, leading to incorrect scheduler time settings. Now, duplicates have the correct start and end date/time.
- Alert Skins Selection: When more than 100 alert skins were created, the 101st and beyond are not visible in the drop down menu when creating an alert. Now, all created alert skins are available for selection.
- Skin Search Functionality: Skin search does not work on the alert skin editor and ticker skin editor pages beyond the first page. This issue is resolved and skin search works as expected across all pages.
- Recurring Survey End Date: Recurring surveys continue to appear after the preset end date. Now, recurring surveys stop after the preset end date.
- Video Alert Sound Issue: Closing a video alert with the Acknowledgement button doesnt stop the alert sound. Now, closing the video alert correctly stops the sound.
- Free Text Answer Responses in Exported Reports: Free text answer fields in Survey, Quiz, Poll are not included in exported CSV and XLSX report files. In this version such responses are recorded in the report export file.
- RSVP Alert Error: Saving edited RSVP alert as a template results in a "Request model invalid" error, preventing it from being saved as a template. The issue is resolved.
- Default Icons in Emergency Alerts: Default icons for emergency alerts are missing, Now we have the following default emergency alert icons: Fire, Medical help, Security, Weather, and Evacuation.
- Minor UI Fixes: Some minor cosmetic UI issues have been corrected.
Known Issues
- Intermediate Step Description in Surveys: When a survey contains an intermediate step with a title and description, on a mobile application users receive a survey that displays its title without the intermediate step description. This issue is fixed in version 11.5.0.0
