How-to: Run a Multi-Alert Campaign

Goal: plan an onboarding series — three popups over one week to the same audience — as a campaign, track its progress, and stop or resume it as a whole. About 30 minutes.

Before you start: an account that can create campaigns and popups (in the demo organization Emma Collins), and a group in the audience to address (for example, All Staff).

Campaigns group related alerts with a shared default audience and combined progress tracking. Details are in Campaigns.

1. Create the campaign

  1. Open Everyday communications → Campaigns and click Create campaign. The Create campaign page opens.
  2. Under General, enter the Campaign name Security awareness week, a description, and optionally a Cover image from Shared assets.
  3. Under Default audience, type All Staff into Quick search and pick the group. Alerts created inside the campaign inherit this audience.
  4. Click Create campaign. The Campaign details page opens; the card on the left shows the campaign as Inactive with 0 alert(s), the recipients count, and the creator; Campaign progress shows zeros and the alert table says No alerts in this campaign.

2. Add the alerts

For each of the three alerts:

  1. On the Campaign details page click Add alerts and choose to create a new alert; choose Popup.
  2. Recipients is pre-filled with the default audience.
  3. Enter the content — Day 1: Passwords, Day 3: Phishing, Day 5: Clean desk.
  4. In Delivery, choose Schedule for later and set the Start date & time to the first, third, and fifth day of the week; set a duration of 1 day.
  5. Click Send alert and confirm. The alert is listed in the campaign with the status Planned.

Existing alerts can be attached instead with Add alerts → Add existing alerts: search, tick them, and confirm.

3. Watch the progress

Back on the Campaign details page:

  • The card shows the number of alerts, and the campaign is Active as soon as it holds a planned or running alert.
  • Campaign progress shows the three categories — Complete, In progress, To do — in the Compare or Stacked view.
  • The alert table at the bottom lists each alert with its priority, status, sender, channels, and creation time; click a row for Analytics and Full report.

On the Campaigns page the card shows the same progress, the active period (from the first to the last alert), and View details.

4. Stop and resume the whole series

If the series must be paused — the content needs a change, or the audience was wrong:

  1. On the Campaign details page click Stop campaign.
  2. In the Stop campaign dialog, keep Also stop running instances off unless alerts already on screen must close too, and confirm.
  3. Every alert of the campaign becomes Stopped and the campaign Inactive. Edit what needs editing.
  4. Click Start/resume campaign. The alerts return to Planned or Distributing and the campaign is Active again.

5. Change the audience mid-way

Click Edit default audience on the details page to change the group for future alerts. Alerts already created keep their own recipients; edit them individually if they must follow.

Tips

  • Give the campaign a cover image — the card is what colleagues recognize on the Campaigns page.
  • Remove from campaign on an alert row detaches it without deleting it; Delete campaign asks for confirmation and removes the campaign only — its alerts stay in the Alerts list, detached, with their status and schedule intact. Stop or delete them separately if the series must not go out.
